As of today (15 October 2026) we're five weeks out. Here are the dates worth putting in your calendar, then tell us how you're doing launch day.
Key dates
- 19 October: one month to go. Polygon reckons it's a symbolic "home stretch" marker, and possibly when we'll hear GTA 6 has gone gold. That's their speculation, not a Rockstar announcement. Polygon
- 12 November: pre-load opens at local midnight for digital pre-orders, and physical boxes (download code, no disc) start arriving. Rockstar Support
- 19 November: launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar
- Before 20 November: buy by then to get the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital buyers also get a month of GTA+. On the UK PlayStation Store, that GTA+ month has to be claimed by 31 March 2027. PlayStation UK
Launch-day checklist
- Clear storage space well before 12 Nov.
- If you're buying physical, remember it's a code in a box. Redeem it as soon as it arrives so the pre-load starts.
- PlayStation codes are region-locked to your account's country. Xbox codes aren't. Buy from a retailer in your own country. Rockstar Support
- Snacks. Book the day off. Tell your mates you've "got the flu". 🤒
