Rockstar has confirmed when you can start downloading GTA 6 ahead of launch on 19 November.
Key details
- PlayStation 5: digital pre-load starts Tuesday 10 November at midnight local time in your own time zone.
- Xbox Series X|S: pre-load starts globally on Tuesday 10 November at 12am GMT (that's midnight UK time).
- Download size: up to 212 GB depending on your console, so start clearing space now.
- Code-in-box (physical) copies: should be at retailers from 12 November.
- Free poster: on 19 November Rockstar will add a printable GTA VI cover art poster and Leonida map as a free download on the official site. A double-sided physical version is coming to the Rockstar Store shortly after launch for $0.99, or free with any Rockstar Store order.
Rockstar says there's still time to pre-order if you want to be playing on day one. Step-by-step pre-load instructions are on the Rockstar Support site.

212 GB is huge. Are you clearing space, buying a new SSD, or deleting GTA V to make room? Let us know below 👇
This is the one to set an alarm for. For anyone in the UK that's midnight on Tuesday the 10th for both consoles, and 212 GB is not a quick job on an average connection. I'm starting mine overnight rather than after work, otherwise I'll still be watching a progress bar at 3am.
