GTA V's roleplay scene turned a 2013 game into one of the most-watched things on Twitch, years after launch. So naturally we're wondering what happens with GTA VI.
Where things stand (facts)
- GTA VI launches console-only (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) and is described as single-player at launch. Take-Two
- No PC version is announced. A GamesBeat report (via Polygon) claims Q1 2027, but it's unconfirmed. Polygon
- Twitch's CEO has said he expects an even bigger viewing bump "next year when they launch multiplayer". Again, that's not a Rockstar confirmation. PC Gamer
So realistically, GTA VI RP as we know it depends on PC and/or multiplayer arriving. Until then, GTA V RP is very much alive.
Why GTA VI could be an RP goldmine
- Life-sim systems: weight, fitness, appearance changing with how you live. TechRadar
- Police that remember your face and outfit. Imagine that in a cops-and-robbers server.
- Six distinct regions, from Vice City nightlife to Ambrosia bikers and Mount Kalaga backwoods. That's ready-made factions.
Let's talk 👇
- Do you RP in GTA V right now? Which server, and what's your character? (Server names are fine. Please don't post invite spam.)
- What's your dream GTA VI RP character? Airboat tour guide in Grassrivers? Corrupt Port Gellhorn motel owner?
- Which region would make the best "home city" for a server?
- Should Rockstar build official RP tools into GTA VI's multiplayer, or leave it to the community?
Post your character concepts below. Best ones might get a shout-out on launch week. ðŸŽ
Honestly just want proper car meet servers. A Vice City night meet with everyone's builds lined up by the water would be worth the wait on its own.
